The Gift of Love

The Gift of Love

There was a time I lived in sorrow and dread,
My heart was so black and my soul was dead.
You came into my life with a heart full of love,
As though you were a sweet angel,
Sent down to me from heaven above.

The softness of your true love,
Laid all my turbulence to rest.
You helped bring out those qualities
Which I needed to be my best.

With all that you gave and inspired in me,
And such gentle sweetness and kindness you showed.
Forever brought me out of the bleak darkness,
Soon magically within me; a bright light glowed.

So much in life, had been invisible to me,
No one ever before you, was able to help me see:

The beauty within myself,
The beauty within others,
The beauty when the sun shines.
The beauty that's felt wherever I go.

The beauty in the clouds above,
The beauty in the night sky.
The beauty in all things big and small,
The beauty in the young and the old.

The beauty in all of nature that surrounds me,
The beauty that shall be in my life always.
The beauty that the Lord has given to me,
Thus becoming the person that God meant me to be.

This, the given gift of light and unconditional love,
That you have so strongly instilled within my mind's eye,
Is so special, and is truly my Dear, A treasured memory of love,
That inspired wings to fly.

Beauty of the Day

Now that august is gone

Now that august is gone
And we all know that all augusts come and go
Is this woman? a woman of vertue,
Is this woman? a super woman
Is this woman? a woman of mission and vision
Is this woman? classy and stylish
Is this woman? preffesional or house wife
And the woman of action and motion

A woman of courage and resilence
A woman of liberation and liberty
A woman of passion and compassion
A woman of thoughts and opinions
A woman of empathy and sympathy
A woman of concerns and kindness
.
A woman of confrontation or insecurity
A woman of altracation or tranquility
A woman of ambition or armunition
A woman of redeemtion or detention
A woman of power or affection
Is this woman a woman

I am not questining you, woman!
I was questioning this woman

First love

First Love
I ne'er was struck before that hour

With love so sudden and so sweet,
Her face it bloomed like a sweet flower
And stole my heart away complete.
My face turned pale as deadly pale.
My legs refused to walk away,
And when she looked, what could I ail?
My life and all seemed turned to clay.

And then my blood rushed to my face
And took my eyesight quite away,
The trees and bushes round the place
Seemed midnight at noonday.
I could not see a single thing,
Words from my eyes did start --
They spoke as chords do from the string,
And blood burnt round my heart.

Are flowers the winter's choice?
Is love's bed always snow?
She seemed to hear my silent voice,
Not love's appeals to know.
I never saw so sweet a face
As that I stood before.
My heart has left its dwelling-place
And can return no more

Beauty of the Day + Poem

Fire on Your Finger

Fire on your finger,
Fire in your eye,
Fire in your spirit,
Fire that won’t die.

Fire in the bare bones of being,
Fire to uphold what’s right,
Fire in the heart of darkness,
Fire to fuel Love’s light.

Fire to burn but not consume,
Fire to learn and not assume,
Fire to live and give living room,
Fire to love and sing her tune.

Cutie of the Day +Poem

The Children of Yesterday

The children of today
Are the children of yesterday,
And the children of yesterday
Will become the children of today.

What will we have to look forward to?
A cycle of duplication, a voice of
Emancipation, or will the cycle
Lead us back to yesterday and
One would ask, where have we been.

Beauty of the Day+Poem

Beauty

It is said that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
We can all see outer beauty in someone, younger or older.

All we need is our eyes.

It is said that love is blind, but it opens our eyes to see the inner beauty,
that comes to mind, it just takes a little time.
Inner beauty is harder to see, it needs more than just the eyes to view.
It requires caring, understanding and compassion, just to name a few.

All that is required is your heart.

We can all see and enjoy outer beauty, here and there, throughout our lives.
And most of us, if we try, can see the inner beauty in people, as time goes by.

Far and few between are those, that have both radiant outer beauty, and warm glowing inner beauty.
Lucky are we, that are fortunate enough to even cross their path, along life's long journey.

If seeing and feeling both with someone is always so easy to comprehend,
We are truly blessed when they turn out to be such a good friend.

My eyes saw your outer beauty when I met you.
My heart saw your inner beauty when I knew you.

Very lucky I have been, truly blessed I will always be.

Cutie of the Day+ Poem: Children are amazing

Children are amazing

Laughter echo through the skies,
- children are amazing
So young and so innocent
- children are amazing
Care free yet compassionate and kind
- children are amazing
From birth to walking and finally speaking ''Dada''
- children are amazing
Enthusiastic at day, pristine at night
- children are amazing
Naive and curious, motivated to learn
- children are amazing
Heaven sent, God's little miracles
- children are amazing
Working young, carrying sacks heavier than them
- children are amazing
Selfless, working for their families
- children are amazing
Naked in the streets, asking for money to eat
- children are amazing
Dreams to nightmares, hearts strengthened in mud
- children are amazing
Staying resilient through adversity and poverty,
That is truly AMAZING!
